December 2017 meeting

The December meeting will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at Tudor Oaks, S77 W12929 McShane Drive, Muskego, WI. The program is "A Child's Christmas in Wales." The social hour begins at 11:30 a.m. and the luncheon is at 12:30 p.m. 


Directions to Tudor Oaks: From I-43, take Moorland Road south, crossing College Avenue and Janesville Road. At Woods Road, Moorland Road's name changes to Durham Drive. Continue south one-half mile. Turn left (east) on McShane Drive. Tudor Oaks is on the right (south side of street).

October 2017 meeting

The October meeting will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at the Milwaukee Catholic Home, 2462 N. Prospect Avenue, Milwaukee, WI. The program is "History of the Traditional Welsh Costume." The social hour begins at 11:30 a.m. and the luncheon is at 12:30 p.m. Join us for lunch and an interesting program.


Directions to the Milwaukee Catholic Home:

From the south -- Take Lincoln Memorial Drive north. Exit at Water Tower Road and go to the top of the bluff. At the intersection of Lake Drive and North Avenue (St. Mary's Hospital), go one block west on North Avenue. Turn right (north) on Prospect Avenue and proceed almost to the end of the block. The Residence is the second entrance on the right. If you reach Bradford Avenue, you have gone too far. Parking is on the street.


From the north -- Take Lake Drive south to the intersection of Lake Drive and North Avenue (St. Mary's Hospital). Go one block west on North Avenue. Turn right (north) on Prospect Avenue and proceed almost to the end of the block. The Residence is the second entrance on the right. If you reach Bradford Avenue, you have gone too far. Parking is on the street.

The Wisconsin Highland Games

The Wisconsin Highland Games are scheduled for Friday, September 1 through Sunday, September 3 at the Waukesha Expo Center. Enjoy a weekend of Celtic fun -- food, music, and, of course -- the Highland Games! The games include heavy athletics, the caber toss, piping & drumming, the longbow, and much more. Visit the Welsh Club booth at the games and enjoy the weekend.


The games are held at the Waukesha Expo Center, 1000 Northview Road (highway FT) in Waukesha, Wisconsin. Visit www.wisconsinscottish.org for more details.

June 2017 meeting

The June meeting will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at Tudor Oaks, S77 W12929 McShane Drive, Muskego, WI. The program will feature a performance by Claire Bilicki, the winner of the club's music scholarship. The social hour begins at 11:30 a.m. and the luncheon is at 12:30 p.m.

Celtic Weekend for All -- May 5, 6, and 7

Join the Welsh Gymanfa Ganu Association of Wisconsin (WGGAW) at the Celtic Weekend for All in Spring Green, Wisconsin on May 5, 6, and 7, 2017. There will be a Celtic concert, seminars on Manx and Welsh, a Noson Lawen with an Irish storyteller, and the Sunday Gymanfa. 2017 Welsh Weekend and State Gymanfa Ganu -- Spring Green, WI

The 2017 Welsh Weekend begins on Friday evening, May 5.  Various cultural events are scheduled for Saturday, May 6, including workshops, Te Bach, and the Welsh Weekend Eisteddfod.


On Sunday, May 6, the 85th annual Wisconsin State Gymanfa Ganu will be held at Christ Lutheran Church Church, 237 East Daley Street, Spring Green, WI.  The service will be followed by Te Bach.

Celebrate St. David's Day!

Join the Welsh Club of the Milwaukee Area for the 85th annual St. David's Banquet on Sunday, February 26.  The banquet will be held at Panos Banquet Center, Crystal Room, 20290 W. Bluemound Road, Brookfield, Wisconsin.  A program on Welsh courtship traditions will follow the meal. 


The social hour begins at 11:30 a.m.  Welcome and prayers are at 12:30 p.m. and the dinner is at 1:00 p.m.  The menu includes a choice of:  9 oz. New York strip steak, chicken cordon bleu, broiled tilapia (gluten free), or veggie stir fry (no potato).  Accompaniments include:  baked potato, California vegetables, side salad, rolls, coffee, tea, milk and dessert.  The cost is:  Adults (members) -- $40.00, Adults (non-members) -- $35.00, and children (12 & under) -- $15.00.


There is free parking at Panos.  Use the side entrance to the banquet hall.  (There are only three small steps.)  Celebrate your Welsh heritage.  Join us at the St. David's Banquet!

February 2017 meeting
